A project of the National Research Programme "Sustainable water management" (NRP 61). Prof Jürg Fuhrer As temperatures keep on rising and precipitation decreases during the summer months, farmers will be more dependent on irrigation in the future, but there will be less water available. Based on different scenarios for climate, pricing and politics, researchers used models to investigate the options available to farmers.
