I have this as well, it's hell

Does my insurance cover this surgery or it comes under plastic surgery?

Hi, Dr.
Is the turbinates made
out of tissue or bone ? -
hi i have a deviated septum ,recently using steroid sprays but no relief, i am afraid of operation and tell me will marks of stitches remain after surgery if remains
then how much -
Is it possible for half or a portion of the turbinates to be enlarged and not all of it? I might have to get the turbinate reduction surgery, sometimes I hear like a popping noise in the area that I feel discomfort is this normal? I think it might be the turbinate rubbing against the septum.

I'm suppose to get surgery for my deviated septum, i was wondering what are the success rate? I'm worried that I'll end up worse than before..

Hi Mr.. Lamperti, just checked out your website and VERY impressed by your work! You seem like a true expert! It's seriously great that you can achieve the kind of results that I've seen on your website....a nose makes a huge deal in a person's sense-of well-being since they have to live with how it looks/functions for the rest of their life.
That being said, I was wondering what causes trouble breathing through the nose BESIDES a deviated septum? I had 3 cases of trauma to my nose a year ago. The nose never broke or change on the outside, it just got red. However, after the 3rd hit my nose felt really weird and damaged on the inside. It feels permanently stuffed up on one side and its not really smooth to breathe out of the other side. I just want to get my old breathing back. I've gone to 3 ENTS and all 3 of them said my septum is NOT deviated and I have the same amount of space to breathe on both sides. So what else should I do if this breathing is really bothering me? By the way I NEVER had allergies or any stuffiness/blockage before the trauma so I feel like there could be cartilage/structures in my nose damaged that maybe the ENT's couldn't see? -
I am also in seattle and I had a deviated septum surgery a while back, the doctor said he put some kind of pieces in my nose so I wouldn't have to wear breath strips anymore after the surgery, but it seems to have failed, the piece is loose and I still need breath strips to sleep at night.
Mucus/boogers/blood accumulate in the left side of my nose and can't be blown out, I have to jam my pinky finger deep into my left nostril in order to clear it out, which in turn causes bleeding, but at least I can breathe for the moment and get some sleep.
In my current state I'm completely dependent on breath strips and jamming my pinky finger into my nose every night causing bleeding in order to sleep.
Any advice would be helpful. -
This is the clearest and well explained video on You Tube. Dr. I got a nasal contusion and my right side is still very stuffy and cannot breath. What can I do to possibly clear it.

Thanks for the info Doctor Lamperti. Been dealing with this for about 10 weeks now and just trying to figure out how to proceed. Guess my next question would be is if there was polyps that far up, would the endoscope be able to see them and be causing the inflammation? I know someone at my job who has been dealing with the same symptoms with the same time frame as me and she had them all through the one side of her nose. Guess long story short would be is it possible for them to be visible by typical exam with endoscope?

thanks for the answer, doctor. so if cartilage has memory, does that mean after the surgery it will go crooked again over time? and how risky is the surgery? also, is it possible to achieve 100% perfect breathing from this surgery? i can breathe just not very well, so i feel like this surgery is a waste unless it can give me perfect, clear breathing.

Hello Doctor. Had the Flu back at the end of February and ever since then my smell and taste faded. Been told it could be sinusitis. Going to an ENT doc and after a few visits and after a round oral steroids the inflammation in the left nostril seems to have gone down but he stated the right was still inflamed. Still having trouble with smells and taste but seems to have some gradual improvement. Could the tribunates be an issue? Seems like the smells seem to come and go. I'm currently using generic flonase and allegra. I will be going back for a follow up in 1 1/2 weeks and should I ask my doctor for an x-ray or CT scan to see if there is any other issues? He has been using the endoscope to see into the nose. Also could the inflammation or turbinates cause the reduced smell? I've been to an allergist and they said i tested positive for dust mites allergy but have never experienced these nose issues like this before. Also seems like the stuffiness in my nose switches sides . Any insite on steps to ask my doctor or suggestions would be great.

Hi Doctor again great video. Couple questions again please answer you would MAKE MY DAY as I have been struggling to breathe for MONTHS. okay so since cartilage is flexible, can you push on your deviated septum to move it back to the middle? mine is bent to the right and i wonder if by constantly pushing on it over time (like sticking my finger up my nose and physically pushing it) I could move it out of the airway?
also should I consider getting surgery? I have NO Other symptoms (no nosebleeds headaches) besides a right blocked nostril (and sometimes the left one but mostly right). i dont want to live with bad breathing forever, but again i am scared of surgery. also, I heard "everyone" has a small deviated septum and they dont notice. is that true? i dont want to get someting fixed that doesnt have to be, you know? I have a deformation of cartilage in my nose from pressing on it (but i never broke it) so i wonder if it will ever just eventaully heal up or shift back to the middle (like it used to be) -
so only way is surgery?

Yes, you can have both a deviated nasal septum and sinusitis at the same time. If surgery is needed for both issues you can normally do both the sinus surgery and septoplasty at the same time. Sinusitis is often treated with medication initially, though, to see if that clears it up. Best, Dr. Lamperti

Hi Dr Lampert I need your help please. I am suffering from DNS (R), but sometimes I have foul smell like a rotten stuff. My question is that, can a same person have both DNS as well as Sinusitis? If yes then the both can be treated simultaneously or they should be treated with certain interval? Thanks.

Hi alf, The middle turbinate less commonly overgrows and blocks the airway. However, the middle turbinate can sometimes have what is called a concha bullosa. This basically means that the turbinate has an air cell inside it. This can cause the turbinate to be too bulky. There are ways of reducing the size of a concha bullosa but this is different from treating the inferior turbinate. Concha bullosas aren't related to allergies. That's just how the turbinate formed. Best, Dr. Lamperti

How common is it to remove the middle turbinates, can they obstruct the airway passage like the inferior turbinates or is it a different problem?
