Lisa Koltay, 48, from Florida, is being joined in her fundraising efforts by teenage son Daryle, 19 - who has dedicated his life to aiding others with his condition. The pair are raising money to send vital supplies to women and children in South America who are suffering from the impact of the devastating virus - which is transmitted by mosquito bite. The reason for Daryle’s microcephaly remains a mystery but Lisa believes that Zika could have played a part – despite the fact that she never left her native Florida while pregnant. I don't know a lot about microsephaly, but I had to do a project on anesephaly a while back and I imagine this probably happens pretty similarly to anesephaly.

This video changed my life. Some videos do that - where you learn something new or feel something special for others you've never met - this is one of those videos. So glad this whole family is so wonderful.

just saying but I know someone who was born underweight and they said that he had Microcephaly. they labeled the child with that. I saw it on his record. afterwards I think they could be monitored his head size but it grew to normal size. he is my friend and now that he is a mature adult he has a normal head size. So what I'm wondering is can the doctors be wrong and misdiagnosed him or when he was born did he qualify for that label and in some cases can still grow out of it? Does anybody know or have any stories that they can relate to?
